I think country songs have sad music and happy lyrics, happy music and sad lyrics, and sometimes the music matches the lyrics. I think having happy music with sad lyrics allows you to be able to dance to it, and still enjoy yourself although it is a sad song. Also the mix of music and lyrics allows you to feel a variety of things, and does not allow you to fully sink into a depression because there is still a happy beat that allows you to keep your head up high.
I think country music could really go both ways about the sad lyrics and music. Its funny because you can hear a sad type of meldony but the lyrics could be happy and heart felt.
I believe the music goes both ways. Some lyrics are sad yet the beat is happy. To me its not just the feeling you get when you hear the song. I believe its the visual representation you get. Country music is just a type of genre it doesn't really have to have a set feeling.
