Kimbra
Settle Down
Question : How do you feel about the shifting trend towards the individual musician rather than ensemble music?
Welcome to my all things creative music blog. I love interesting ways of looking at things and making correlations with subjects that normally would not be associated with each other. Here you will find videos of music performances, tutorials, and editorials about the ever changing world of music. If you have questions about music, feel free to post. I will do my best to find the best possible answer available to me and the world wide web.

I think that the trend-shift has to do with more people getting into electronic music, and most electronic music acts have only one producer behind them. I think it's neat though; it shows that it can be easier to be in a one-man-band these days thanks to evolved technology.
ReplyDeleteI think this sounds good. I don't see anything wrong with it. It's interesting cause it's all her. Great!
ReplyDeleteI'm cool with the whole "do it yourself" bit, but personally it takes a great skill to be in harmony within a band.

I think that they should stick with bands because the instruments harmonize better with the vocals.
ReplyDeletei think it really depends on who's all doing the music and how/what they feel comfortable with.

I feel the one man band is very unique and it will be =come more popular than it is now in the future. It may not be my taste since a full ensemble is more appealing to me but this trend is impressive and good enough to be mainstream someday.
ReplyDeleteI think that the sound of a harmony in a band is better than just one person doing all the work.
ReplyDeleteI think a band is better because it usually means they put work into t rather than having someone write music for you to play.
ReplyDeleteI think that a group is better because it sound more real to me than reason
ReplyDeleteIt's much better this way, you now don't even need a whole group to fallow you around. More money for you, less time splitting it up.
ReplyDeleteI think someone who could do it all by themselves is extremely talented I like it more then a whole band.
ReplyDeleteI think she should definetly get credit for being able to do all that independently, with technology ofcourse. It'll totally get more popular in the future and as things advance technology wise, but personaly i think a whole complete band's better. Watching and listening to, it's not all focused on one artist it's the whole band that contributes that people pay attention to, and i think it sounds better.
ReplyDeleteI don't really care for it, because It does NOT sound sound the same as a actually band would sound. Also you really don't get the full experience of being able to practice, to hear the guitar, bass, and drums. All those instrument don't sound the same as the actually instrument itself.
ReplyDeleteI find this interesting because I love Kimbra! That and I also make a lot of weird noises with my vocals and I always wondered what it would be like to record it and then sing on top of it. I find it unique because no one can copy your music because it all comes from you. I would like to try this one day soon!
